It might seem like a lot of work at first, but don’t be scared! Put on some Christmas music, roll up your sleeves and get to work. These Christmas gingerbread cookies, are well worth the work!

Christmas Gingerbread Recipe
A classic gingerbread recipe, for the Christmas holidays!

  1. 150 gr whole wheat flour
  2. 150 gr white flour
  3. 100 gr butter
  4. 2 spoons honey
  5. 1 egg
  6. 5 spoons brown sugar
  7. 1 vanilla sugar
  8. pinch of salt
  9. 1/2 spoon baking powder
  10. 1 spoon cinnamon
  11. 1 spoon chocolate powder
  12. 1 spoon gingerbread condiment
  13. 1 grated orange peel
  1. Take one big bowl and mix all dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, chocolate powder and gingerbread condiment).
  2. After you've mixed all into one mixture, add butter, honey and orange peel.
  3. Mix together for a few minutes.
  4. Finally, add egg and mix until you get nice smooth dough.
  5. Place dough in the fridge for a few hours or even overnight.
  6. Few hours after, take dough out and leave for half-hour at room temperature.
  7. Roll out the dough and cut it into shapes.
  8. Put them in preheated oven at 180 C for 10-12 minutes.
  9. Let them cool off before decorating.
  1. You can decorate them on many different ways: with whipped egg white, whipped lemon juice, icing sugar… We leave it to your imagination!
